Ikebana Party

Ikebana is an oriental form of floral design that uses a balance of the Shin, soe and hikae, each term is explained, then we each do an arrangement based on this art discipline.

Each person will balance the 3 elements of our  arrangement differently depending on which part of ourself is most dominant.

Mandy then interprets each arrangement, telling the story though the balance of the flowers.

For example a new Mum at home with baby, often exaggerates the earth line in her day to day time with the here and now, or it will not be dominating but be very long in the earth line balance often meaning that she is neglecting herself and needs to take time out for herself more.

Someone finishing studies or starting a new job will often have an exaggerated entrepreneurial or spirit line, speaking of distant dreams being begun to be fulfilled and the beginning of moving into your destiny

A new mum with an extended entrepreneurial line has dreams and wishes that are waiting to be fulfilled.

Basically its fun, exciting and lots of laughs, see how accurate it really is. Always positive  and surprising.

Ikebana is an ancient form of art developed by Eastern designers incorporating flowers to symbolize:           

 1.  the aspects of nature, earth, air  and  water.

2. the elements of the earth, wind, water and fire.

3.  the  nature of humankind,  Spirit, soul and body.

Named the shin, the soe, and the hikae.

The ascending line represents the spirit, the shin.

The earth line or hikae represents the body or red earth.

 The heart or the soe, ties these two aspects together.

Our aim with Ikebana is to not only represent these parts of a whole, but to balance them.

The spirit  is our tie to the heavenlies, our aim is to open our spirit to God.

The earth line our body is our tie to the earth or creation, as a custodian of it.

The heart  line is our mind, will and emotions. Tying our spirit and body. 

To be in balance with our body and spirit, which has been an age old  struggle, it is our choice or our mind, will and emotions that  we must take to task.

As we put our creative talents to task we will be able to see which part of our being dominates us.
